Cuttyhunk is a great place to visit when you need “to get away from the world” for a few days or…. You must bring a few supplies as the Island has no supermarket, no liquor store, a few restaurants, minimal WIFI, and only one breakfast place. There are some unique places to eat on the pier, a fantastic Taco cart, a whole lobster diner, and a great chowder, but check for times as they are very seasonal about openings. More golf carts than cars are located on the Island as it is only 581 acres big, but it has limited roads to most of the Island. A view from the top hill is highly suggested, and seeing sunrise or sunset is a MUST for any visit. The Island has an ancient history of native Indians and European settlers, but more on this history will be discussed in another post.

Check out more information about moorings and dockings at Cuttyhunk Harbor. All town moorings inside the harbor are first come, first served and limited to vessels under 50′. If you want an inside mooring, pick up any town blue and white mooring ball with a grey metal shaft clearly marked “Cuttyhunk Town Rental. “

These next two images come from a short walk up to Lookout Park. This is well worth doing with great views from any angle and with a World War 2 watch tower.
